Thanks for all the kind words from everyone! I really appreciate it. This comic doesn’t have a lot of laughs either. Maybe the next one…

comics don’t have to be funny (inspite of the name – maybe we should call them something else – graphic poems? Visual philosophy?)
I really like this one.
Lovely, man. (Pretty recent citation you snuck in there, too 🙂
I love when comics I love reference other comics I love.
Hi,
I love your comic and this one is quite profound.
It got me thinking about love.
It reminded me of when I was a kid and I thought love as all that was needed.
Now, that I’m older I don’t think love directly changes anything any more than hate does. But I would certainly want to be in a relationship with a partner which was based on love rather than hate. And in general all relationships, even with total strangers go better if they are based on things like respect and love (where appropriate) rather than hate and violence.
Honestly I think comics should just express things in general, and if they happen to be funny at the end, so be it. Comics with forced punchlines at the end are generally bad, when they could have been good with just the message.
Love the way you popped the girl from the last Subnormality comic in here, this makes me unbelievably happy! Akimbo comic and Subnormality are always my first call when i go online. Please keep up the incredible work your line is really good, drawn and plot, and that’s all that really matters so don’t let anyone tell you different.
probably felt the same as 9 out of the 12 people in you strip at least once or more times in my life. hate the fact that love is so subjective. especially in this century where i feel that its value is slowly slipping away by the minute. i agree with kelsi btw, if its one thing i know, i love subnormality and akimbo comics thats for sure. good too see trent in this strip was well 😛
This comic deserves a gold star. I wouldn’t be surprised if akimbocomics gets hit by another reddit or stumbleupon wave if you keep making more like this. See you next time, b!
The girl in the bottom row, she’s who I think she is, right? Or, from the place I think she’s from?
being in a couple of those, feels bad man, great work
Very nice comic man …I definitely fit in one of those categories .
Thanks, everyone! Love that randomguy recognized Trent in there. As far as the girl in the bottom row, I would never presume to put words in the mouth of another creator’s character but it is certainly meant as an homage, if Mr. Rowntree will allow me.
I cried man.
Lovely. One of my favorites from here.
It’s reassuring to see that other people feel the same way I do.
Panel four- Yeeeeeah. That one really burns. It burns like kerosene, and lasts for quite a while.
Enjoying your work, though.
I find the last panel somewhat empowering. 1 – 5 are rough and I’ve come to grips with #7.
Er, come to grips with #8, rather. Not 7.
Aw, Trent and the cashier girl. And Ethel! Awesome.
