es&d classic. A modified version of the monologues from all the way back at #1. Originally I was trying to invent a new comic format that no one had ever done by tweaking Feiffer a little. But it wasn’t that original and they weren’t that popular. I thought I’d try one with color and a little tighter drawing. I’m not thrilled with it.
I quite like your monologues, actually. Especially this one, because I knew how it would end. Because I’m that kind of person, too.

So am I.
Brilliant. Vintage Akimbo. This made my day.
I got a happy little buzz inside about half-way through knowing that there would be a great cynical kick at the end. Nice one.
Love these monologues…they remind me of a kid I work with. After talking to him for a little while:
Me: Man, I’ve never seen Rachel in a tank top before…didn’t realize how huge her boobs are.
Him: Yeah she’s a fuckin cocktease. Her tits are pretty much the only thing going for though.
Me: What? No, she’s so sweet.
Him: Well, I mean yeah, I meant physically.
Me: …geez. You didn’t really strike me as the critical type, you’re so friendly towards everyone.
Him: What? No, I am friendly. I’m only critical when people say things that are ignorant and intolerable.
Some completely honest feedback: The old monologues were walls of text. I read one and then skipped the rest. In contrast, this style pulled me in, and I enjoyed it.
just to make your life harder: i liked the old monologues better
they did feel more fresh, different.
also, spending the afternoon and the evening to catch up with your works. why did i not know of this before??
And these people allow injustice and pain to foster. Then again, I understand the feeling completely, underneath, there’s a fear that you can do jack shit to help those in pain. And then you feel responsible for their suffering, even if you aren’t doing anything to add to it at all, even if you literally CAN’T help.
And I actually like the monologues. I like the color, but I miss the floating heads. Putting it in standard comic form… I dunno, it just seems to restrain it a bit too much. But it’s not worse or anything, that just comes down to personal taste, to me.
What? The monologues are some of my favorite by you. The series wouldn’t be the same without them; they are some of the rawest form of what this comic really is.
