I’ve noticed you tend to be really hard on yourself when it comes to your comics but I wanted to let you know that you do a better job of explaining and expressing so many of the issues we all struggle with than just about anybody out there right now, and you do it poetically to boot.
that last panel reminded me of something
does anyone else ever have that sensation where you are controlling your body from afar about a metre behind/above your head, i mainly get it when im walking and thinking about something else but my hands suddenly feel far away
and the only thing i feel any visceral connection too is my head
just something i thought i might ask… its rather difficult too google lol
anyway another great comic captured the bromide-esque nature of such a comment perfectly
whatever happend with that bob vs bob film i really want to see it
This didn’t quite CLICK until I had a few xmas pints. Now I get it. Not that it’s not sensible, but I immediately thought of Arch-nihilist Thomas Ligotti’s short story “The Clown Puppet”, and that got in the way (you might “enjoy” Ligotti’s stuff, AJ, as it is based on the premise that we’re basically automatons who, under rare good conditions, can feel happy and at home in an otherwise dead Universe).
Totally ‘out of body’- you control the body to do what doesn’t feel right and it becomes the puppet, the thing that is not you but looks like you and is manipulated by you and you can litteraly feel how the mind and body nolonger feel as one.
My favorite? Pretty damn close!
Thanks for giving me a reason to come into work! (because I don’t have internet at home)
Just curious: was this comic the one that you “thought was shit” according to your site admin in the previous post? Because this one really speaks to people, including me. Excellent work.
It sure is, Jonny. It was so much better in my head and I got so discouraged drawing it as it just came out so shitty. By the end I guess it turned out OK. I’m glad people like it.
This update reminds me very much of Louis (the show by the comedian of the same name). I kinda feel that women tend to hold onto anything they’re not sure will be accepted more than men do. Like, we test the waters for a longer period of time before opening up. Maybe it’s just me. When a man opens up to me, I’m usually just relieved – oh, good, you’re as depraved/insecure/irrational/dumb as I am. I may be able to share with you!
Love it. “Yay” at the end is a perfect touch.
I agree, this was excellent.
Another excellent piece of art =)
I love the amazingly huge boobs near the end. So big they’re overlapping.
Too unfortunately true.

Dude. Been there.
Wonderful return
Yet another brilliant ES&D comic that b. patrick considers to be not good enough 🙂 I hope that he likes them at least a bit..
Dude, i’m pretty sure this is good.

@AJ: Out of Body Experience.
Always glad for an update, man. Also fucking giddy to see that you resumed Curious Urgency.
Take care.
@ AJ: Look up depersonalization and derealization.

I like this strip. It’s an elegant little puzzle.

Ever since I found akimbocomics every one has been an understated masterpiece! So here’s to another, thank you very much!

Start reminds me of Dorian Gray.
This was great. Keep em’ coming.
Brilliant as always.

Oh man, this one hurt in all the right places.
Found This on reddit will definitely be giving this a read through.
This is beautiful, I’m not sure what you wanted to make but this is really fantastic.
